Live Comedy

Alongside my advertising career, I’ve been steadily beavering away at my side career: Clowning.
Every year, I make the pilgrimage to the holy land of weird comedy - Edinburgh Fringe - to present increasingly unhinged shows, mostly with my brother. Together, we perform under the accurate banner: The Duncan Brothers.
It’s a deeply fulfilling and financially questionable endeavour.

I also take great joy in making all the promo materials. Below is a loose timeline of the shows.
No show footage, sadly - our comedy transcends mere video.
It all began, as most good things do, with LEGS.

Julia Masli & The Duncan Brothers: LEGS

WINNER: Malcolm Hardee Awards 2019 - Comic Originality

The blurb: Legs are what most humans stand on. They also allow humans to walk, crouch and lunge. If at any point in your life you have used your legs, thought about legs or if you know someone with legs, then this is the show for you.

SOLD OUT SEASON: Soho Theatre London 2020 (Extended Run due to popular demand)

"It reaches the purest forms of nonsense and silly" ★★★★ - The Skinny

"an escape from meaning" ★★★★ - The List

"The audience are reacting as if they have been starved of this content all their lives" ★★★★ - Comedy To Watch

LOGS.

Blurb: If you’ve ever seen, known, loved or tripped over a log then this is the show for you. Logs. If you’re reading this you’re probably not a log. But if you are then we owe you an apology: we are sorry it’s taken this long for humans to make an hour long show dedicated to you.

From the creators of the award-winning show Legs.

SOLD OUT SEASON: Soho Theatre London 2021

Jeremy Segway: A life out of balance

Blurb: A show dedicated to Mr Segway - the man behind the Segway - performed entirely on Segways. The incomparably ridiculous Duncan Brothers play his sons, telling the inspiring story of a man who tried to change the world… and how we travel within it.

"Brilliantly, hilariously stupid. I cannot recommend it HARD ENOUGH" Frankie Boyle

"Gloriously ridiculous" ★★★★★ ThreeWeeks

"Something extraordinary" ★★★★ Scotsman

"Spirit of the Fringe" Chortle

"One of the most bizarre shows that I have ever seen" ★★★★ Broadway World

Performed at Soho theatre

Blood Sword

The Duncan Brothers battle their real-life Genetic Blood Condition with the power of the mystical Blood Sword.

After discovering that they share a genetic blood condition, the incomparably ridiculous Duncan Brothers premier their most personal show yet.

Set in a medieval fantasy world, Blood Sword  follows Andy and Rob’s hero’s journey, an allegory of how the clown double acts were tested, treated, and now manage their shared diagnosis.

A madcap story that simultaneously entertains and raises awareness for the metabolic disorder in partnership with the charity Hemochromatosis UK.

Nominated: Malcolm Hardee Awards 2024 - Comic Originality

“The surreal qualities are Python-esque and there are moments where the pair somehow manage to look like Terry Gilliam’s animations come to life.” ★★★★ The List

“Their most personal show yet…. this is crazy joy” ★★★★ The Review Hub

“A gloriously gormless show about having a genetic blood condition.” ★★★★ The Scotsman
